Midfield powerhouse Steven Reid is desperate to break his goal duck before the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international has yet to find the back of the net this term, but believes he has a great chance of getting himself on the scoresheet over the six remaining games, starting on Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur.

"Obviously Roque has done his part, Benni has scored a few goals too," said Reidy. "Bents has chipped in with close to ten, and I think if you want to finish in that top five or sixth place you need your midfielders to score a few goals as well.

"I've been disappointed not to get off the mark so far this season but hopefully with six games to go I can get myself on the scoresheet."

Reid admits that he has had to play a more holding role in midfield for Rovers this season, but has enjoyed his new position.

"It is a position that has needed to be filled, I've had to discipline my game at times and hold like a Tugay. But I still feel I can get forward and still feel that I need to add a few more goals.

"Hopefully I'll get a few more games under my belt, I'm still finding my feet after a long injury out, but I'm starting to get there and a few goals would be nice to help us climb the table."
