Friedel feeling positive
GOALKEEPER Brad Friedel is in confident mood ahead of Rovers' trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsene Wenger's Arsenal this Monday evening - kick-off 8.00pm.
The American stopper, who signed a new contract last week to extend his stay at Ewood Park until the summer 2010, believes that Rovers have what it takes to cause a surprise and stop Arsenal from increasing their lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League to five points.
"Every team in the world is beatable," said the Rovers number one. "Yes they do have intricate passing and they have a lot of pace, and this year they have something a little but different with Adebayor's aerial ability in the box.
"Yes it is going to be difficult but I think we'll try to take positives about how we played against them at Ewood. I know going away from home is always a little bit more difficult, but I thought we played very well and on another day we should have come out winners."
Rovers can also draw inspiration from last season's FA Cup encounter when Mark Hughes' side became the first British club to hold the Gunners to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium before taking them back to Ewood Park and knocking them out of the competition.
"We are going to go there and try to do the same, we are also going to try to impose our football, lets not forget that we also have some tremendous players in our squad as well.
"You never go into any sporting event thinking that you don't have a chance, we are going to go there and try to get a positive result, and if we can do that then it will give us a heck of a lot of confidence to complete our last twelve games and to fight for a European position."
