Boss relishing Arsenal challenge

Posted on: Fri 17 Aug 2007

ROVERS boss Mark Hughes is eagerly anticipating his in-form team's first Premier League home game of the new season - a mouth-watering fixture with Arsenal on Sunday.

Rovers kicked off their League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough on Teeside last Saturday and Hughes is eagerly looking forward to the challenge sure to be provided by Arsene Wenger's young side.

"It will certainly be a big test," said the manager. "They are an outstanding team and club. We have had some great games against them in recent times and none more so than the FA cup quarter-final last season.

"There is always incident, there is always something happening, and there is always good quality football on show so we are really looking forward to it.

"It is our first home of the season so there will be a big crowd and I hope we can give our fans plenty to cheer on the day."

Tickets are currently on open sale for this Category A game, and with our price reductions for the 2007/08 season, it now sees prices start from just £25 for Adults, £15 for Seniors and Club 16-21 Members* and Juniors. Full pricing for all areas can be found here.

Sunday's game also marks the first match for Season Ticket Holders to use their new entry cards. New cards have now been sent out to all 14,500 Season Ticket holders via first class post in advance of the match against Arsenal, but with the disruption caused by industrial action on behalf of Royal Mail employees there is always the possibility that a handful of cards may not turn up in time for Sunday's match.

Anyone who hasn't received their Season Ticket Card will be issued with a temporary matchday ticket for their seat. A special window at the Blackburn End Ticket Office will be designated to serve those fans without their cards. The club requests that fans arrive early to allow their details to be processed. Please have ID available.

The Ewood Park turnstiles will be open from 1:30pm on Sunday to allow fans to watch the Manchester derby on the big screen and concourse televisions.

*Club 16-21 Price Tickets are available to those who were Club 16-21 members in Season 2006/07, should they still qualify. Details of Membership for 07/08 will be released shortly.
