It is their biggest game of the season - Encke

Posted on: Thu 16 Aug 2007

FINNISH international keeper Peter Enckelman has warned his Rovers team-mates not to underestimate the threat posed by UEFA Cup opponents MyPa-47.

Mark Hughes' side travel to Enckelman's homeland for Thursday's second round qualifier at the Anjalankoski Stadium - a ground Rovers' giant goalie remembers well.

"They are halfway through their season, so it is a similar situation to the one we had in Lithuania," said Enckelman.

"Obviously we've had a couple of good games under our belts, so maybe we are better prepared for this game than the last one, but it is going to be hard for us.

"For them it is their biggest game of the season. Obviously it is at a lesser level, but if our attitude is not right then we can get ourselves into trouble.

"It will be a fantastic occasion for them. There's a population of 17,000 and there'll be 4,000 fans at the game, so it will be a good atmosphere.

"It will be different, but we are there to do a job and we've just got to make sure we go through.

"I've played there a couple of times and there are good memories of the ground for me - I've enjoyed playing there.

"It is a good stadium and the pitch is of a good condition. The weather has been very nice recently, so it will be hot."
