Rovers Ladies Reserves 0-3 Doncaster Belles

Rovers Ladies Reserves missed the chance to go top of the table following a 3-0 defeat at home to league leaders Doncaster Belles.

Doncaster dominated the first half and took the lead through a superb finish from the edge of the box.

Rovers rarely threatened, with Emma McDougall and Nicole Foster squandering the only chances of note.

The home side made a couple of changes after the break, but it was the visitors who continued to hold the upper hand.

The Belles added a second on the 70-minute mark when some poor defending led to a scrappy goal and, as Rovers pushed bodies forward, defeat was confirmed five minutes from time, as Doncaster struck on the break.

Manager Scott Rogers said: "We never got going, which is extremely disappointing

"I picked a team which I felt was capable of winning the game, but we failed to compete and I've let my players know that.

"On a positive note, we have a fantastic group of young players at this club and they will only get better. As a team, we will look to put this right and I'm confident that we'll bounce back."

ROVERS: Payne, Munro, Sullivan, Heyes (Chattell 50), Lucas, Flynn, Forster, Paling (Whittingham 75), McDougall, Hatcliffe (Lynch 50), Foster.
Subs not used: Garner, Hetherington.
