FA Women's Football Awards

Posted on: Thu 11 Jun 2009

REPRESENTATIVES from Rovers Ladies were among the esteemed guests as the cream of the women and girls' game converged on London for the 2008-09 FA Women's Football Awards.

After safely securing their status in the top flight for another season, manager Adam Lakeland and members of his backroom team travelled to the capital for the enjoyable end-of-term event.

Held at the Park Plaza Hotel, the 11th annual ceremony featured awards in 16 different categories and was hosted by ITV football pundit Robbie Earle.

Rovers were joined by over 300 of the biggest names in women's football, including members of the England senior squad, as well as FA Chairman Lord Triesman and Director of Football Development Sir Trevor Brooking.

Despite missing out on all the major honours, Rovers were nominated in both the media and marketing categories.
