REPRESENTATIVES from Rovers Ladies were among the esteemed guests as the cream of the women and girls' game converged on London for the 2007-08 FA Women's Football Awards.

After another successful season of top-flight football, manager Adam Lakeland and members of his backroom team travelled to the capital for the enjoyable end-of-term event.

Held at the swanky Vinopolis venue, close to London's South Bank, Rovers were joined at the awards by the likes of England head coach Hope Powell and the FA's Director of Football Development Sir Trevor Brooking.

Despite missing out on all the major honours, Rovers striker Katie Anderton, who scored 22 league goals in as many games last season, received a special mention for finishing second in the National Division's top scorers chart.
