SALFORD SV Ladies are the team that stands between Rovers and Lancashire Cup success for the fifth season in succession.

Whilst Rovers were overcoming Preston North End in their semi-final, Salford secured their shot at the county crown courtesy of a 2-1 victory at home to Curzon Ashton.

Salford started the Women's Knockout Cup with a 1-0 victory away to Bacup Borough in the second round, before a 2-1 triumph over Blackpool Wren Rovers in the quarter-finals.

Rovers boss Adam Lakeland said: "I don't know anything about Salford to be honest, but they must have some good players to have beaten last year's finalists in the last four.

"We will respect them, like we do with everyone, but now that we're in the final, we are desperate to win and we will go all out to ensure we do."

The date and time for the final, which will again take place at the LFA County Ground in Leyland, are yet to be confirmed.
