Ladies duo in England action
IN a busy time for England Women's teams, two young starlets from the Rovers Ladies ranks are currently representing their respective age groups in major international tournaments over in Scandinavia.
Midfield general Lynda Shepherd is part of the 18-player England Under-23 squad, which is taking part in the Nordic Under-23 Tournament in Finland this week.
England have been paired with Finland and Germany in Group A, whilst the USA, Norway and Sweden make up Group B. Brent Hills' side face the tournaments hosts at the Hietalahti Stadium on Wednesday, before taking on the reigning champions at Seinäjoki on Friday.
Only six teams are competing in the event this year, compared to the usual eight, but plans have already been made for the Three Lions to play Norway on the last rest day, guaranteeing the players four very tough games against some of the top ranked countries in the world.
Meanwhile, utility player Jayne Eadie has been named in Mo Marley's 18-player England Under-19 squad for the UEFA Under-19 Championships in Iceland.
The Young Lions face Poland in their opening match at Fylkisvollur Stadium on Wednesday, before playing France and Spain in the following games.
