ROVERS Ladies ended their record-breaking 2006-07 campaign with a hard-fought and creditable 2-0 defeat at home to the USA Under-20 World Champions.

In a free flowing friendly encounter, which didn't merit a free-kick until the 59th-minute of the game, an under-strength Rovers side pushed their touring opponents right to the wire.

For the USA, who won the Under-20 World Championships in Russia in 2006, needed two second-half goals to ensure the win.
