Pupils will be challenged to identify and develop their entrepreneurial skills through the creation and manufacture of a prototype product. Having been encouraged to identify opportunity and to design to meet particular need, they will decide upon, plan and make their prototype product. Following choice and manufacture of product, price and promotion methods will be considered.

Programme content will cover:
- Business ownership
- Marketing and brand recognition
- Human resources
- Operations management
- Finance and accounting
at a depth appropriate to Key Stage.

The development of ICT skills and use of CAD/CAM software and ICT-based sources for research will be an additional outcome of the programme.

Pupils will be encouraged to put their creative and imaginative skills to the test throughout the day in product design and marketing and will further benefit from opportunities to develop key skills in preparation for the world of work.
