NICOLA Worthington was treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Rovers' senior training centre after winning a publicity competition run by the club's Centre of Excellence.

Nicola met manager Sam Allardyce and a number of Rovers' senior stars at a recent pre-match press conference staged at Brockhall.

After being asked who could gain the most media coverage, the 15-year-old beat off some strong competition from her team-mates when she appeared in a copy of the Lancashire Evening Post.

Nicola was the subject of the Preston paper's The Big Interview, which ran a 1,247-word double page feature on the aspiring England footballer.

She said: "It was a really good experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity.
