Enjoy the occasion

Academy manager Phil Cannon hopes the under 18s go out and show Chelsea what they are capable of when the two sides meet in the 1st leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final at Ewood Park this Wednesday evening - kick-off 7.00pm.

The under 18s are in fine form after knocking out the likes of Manchester United and Everton en route to the last four of the competition, and Cannon wants to players to ensure that they have no regrets once the tie is over.

"These can be great nights in a young players' career and I just hope that the players don't freeze on the occasion and that they go out and express themselves.

"Manchester United were probably favourites this year and they fancied their chances, and it is fair to say that Chelsea were probably second favourites. We've done the first part, now it is time for the second.

"But this is football, it is 11 v 11, it is all about what happens on the night and who turns up.

"You just hope that the lads go out there and express themselves and play without fear of failing.

"We've created a happy environment for the players here and we've got to keep that, so I hope they don't let themselves down and they've no regrets.

"Gary has got our lads well organised and they know what they are doing, so as long as they go out there on the night and just put on a good show for everyone."

Season Ticket Holders can see the game this Wednesday for free on production of their Season Ticket Card. General admission prices on the night are £3 Adults, £1 Concessions. The Jack Walker lower tier will be open for this game, kick-off is at 7.00pm. The ticket office closes at 5.30pm but the Roverstore is open until 7pm for tickets and indeed for ticket applications for the Burnley match.
