Rovers' under 18s booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup after defeating Blackpool 3-0 at Ewood Park.
In a game where Gary Bowyer's charges weren't at their best, it took until the 44th minute for them to break the deadlock when Jason Banton fired home from Micah Evans cross.
Rovers continued to pepper the Blackpool goal in search for a second, the lively Banton hit the post and forced several fine saves from Kettings in the visitor's goal.
A second finally came with eight minutes remaining when Tom Hitchcock fired home after Osayamen Osawe had forced an error from the goalkeeping.
The icing on the cake came in the final minute when Jordan Bowen clipped a wonderful strike over the 'keeper and into the net.
Ahead of the game Gary Bowyer was able to name an experienced line-up. Phil Jones, who has two senior appearances to his name, was joined in the starting eleven by Reserve regulars Josh Morris, Jackson Ramm, Michael Potts and Jason Lowe, and that showed early on as the home side tried to impose themselves on the Seasiders.
After just four minutes a centre from Potts was headed back by Lowe, but Micah Evans snatched at the chance and fired over from ten yards.
That continued to be the theme, Rovers creating chances, but more often than not failing to turn the possession into clear-cut chances.
Evans and Jason Banton both saw shots deflected wide, whilst Grant Hanley could only head wide with a stooping header.
Jason Banton was having more of an influence on the game as the half wore on, a drilled effort on 25 was beaten away, before the young striker linked up well with Hitchcock only to see his shot saved once again.
But just before the break Rovers finally got the goal that their play deserved. Micah Evans was the provider as he got round the back of the Blackpool defence to find Banton, and he took a touch before lashing the ball home from 12 yards for his 11th goal of the season.
Blackpool came out in the second half with more purpose, testing Josh Swann in the Rovers goal as Foster let fly at the near post, whilst captain Grant Hanley made an important block to stop Younda from getting a shot on target.
At the other end Micah Evans went close, but his effort at the back post landed on the roof of the net.
Just past the hour mark Jason Banton went close to getting his and Rovers' second. Advancing in from the left, the young striker took the ball around the advancing goalkeeper, with options limited and an ever tightening angle, the 16-year-old let fly only to see his effort crash off the foot of the post.
Kettings in the Blackpool goal was certainly the busier of the two 'keepers, keeping out strikes from Banton, Ramm and Lowe.
When a Michael Potts corner kick was headed wide from Grant Hanley, you wondered if Rovers were going to be punished for being profligate in front of goal, but eight minutes from time the 2nd finally arrived.
Jason Banton sent over a free-kick from the left, substitute Osayamen Osawe made a nuisance of himself forcing the goalkeeper to clear straight to Tom Hitchcock who made no mistake, blasting home from 8 yards.
Osawe should have capped his debut with a goal of his own, but from Hitchcock's pass the young striker steered his effort wide.
However right on 90 minutes a third goal was being celebrated when Jordan Bowen scored the goal of the game, latching onto a pass from substitute James Knowles before firing into the roof of the net to send Rovers through to the fourth round.
