Rovers Academy midfielder James Knowles helped Northern Ireland's under 17s reach the Elite stage of the UEFA Under 17 Championships.

The young Rover was away with Northern Ireland for three matches in Andorra in the qualifying stage.

Wins in their first two matches 2-0 over Malta and Andorra meant qualification for the next stage was assured, but they slipped to a 1-0 loss to eventual group winners Netherlands in their final game.

Midfielder Knowles featured in all three of the 80 minute matches.
