The under 18s season ended in a disappointing fashion on Saturday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers.
Two near identical goals on the break in the second half meant that Gary Bowyer's young side ended their season's hard work with a loss.
After an opening twenty minutes in which both sides canceled each other out, it is was the visitors who threatened first when the Bolton striker fired narrowly wide.
Rovers went straight up the other end with Gearoid Morrissey going equally close with a strike from the edge of the box.
The home side ended the half in the ascendancy with Jason Lowe seeing a shot saved, Josh Morris clipping an effort over the bar, whilst Phil Jones skipped past a couple of challenges to play in Michael Potts but the Bolton goalkeeper was out to clear the danger.
However ten minutes into the second half, Rovers conspired to allow Bolton to score the opening goal of the game. From a Rovers free-kick on the edge of the Bolton area, the ball was cleared and the visitors broke away to score.
With fifteen minutes to go Bolton doubled their lead with a near identical goal as the first. From a Rovers attack play broke down and they again raced away to score.
Rovers rallied late on when sub' Reece Hands saw a shot saved, Jones fired wide from a corner kick and planted another header over, but it was a case of too little too late.
