THREE of Rovers' younger players go head-to-head in Galway this evening.
For the Republic of Ireland under 17s take on Germany's under 17s at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.00pm.
Aaron Doran and Gavin Gunning have been named in the squad for this Group 1 UEFA Elite phase qualifier, whilst on the opposing team is goalkeeper Bjorn Bussman.
Despite being in their first year with the Academy, all three have already featured for Glyn Hodges Reserve team this season.
Winger Doran is the Rovers Academy's leading goalscorer this term with nine goals to his name, but it would be of particular delight if he was able to put one past his club team-mate Bussman this evening.
The game against Germany's under 17s is the first of three games for the Republic of Ireland over the next few days. Saturday sees them take on Greece in Athlone, then next Tuesday they face Portugal's youngsters back in Galway.
The group winners will go through to finals which take place from May 4th-16th in Antalya, Turkey.
