The 23-year-old was handed the 2012-13 Player of the Year award before kick-off and he responded by netting a fantastic strike as Rovers drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace to all but cement their place in next season's championship, his 27th for the club this season.
Speaking after the match on Radio Rovers, the Rovers boss said: "What a fantastic goal, it is the last goal on Ewood for this season, so for Jordan to get it and the manner of it is fitting.
"It was a great finish, it was a great ball in but he knew where the goal is, he just flicked it over the goalies head and it goes in, it was an outstanding finish.
"He's rightly Player of the Year in my opinion. His job is scoring goals and he has done his job to the highest order.
"A lot of people will have knocked his price tag and how much we paid for him but that has nothing to do with the lad.
"What he has done is just got on and done his job.
"He's the best finisher I've ever seen in terms of training and what have you. He is so cool and so accurate."
Rhodes and Rovers are in action for the final time this season when they travel to St. Andrews to take on Birmingham next Saturday, kick-off 12.45pm.
