A local disability football team celebrated the delivery of their new kit by making a special visit to the Rovers training ground.

Mill Hill Diversity FC are on a winning streak after being named ‘Senior Team of the Year’ at the Lancashire Telegraph Grassroots Heroes Awards, having been crowned Lancashire FA Ability Counts league and cup winners for 2012-13.

Rovers stars David Dunn, Paul Robinson and Matt Kilgallon were on hand to make the presentation, along with kit sponsors Alternative Futures Group.

Mill Hill manager John Walsh, who started the team only two years ago, said: “It’s terrific for us to be associated with Blackburn Rovers. We’re the nearest amateur team to the stadium and it would be great to establish a long-lasting partnership with the club.

“The lads absolutely loved the visit to Brockhall. A number of players took time out to sign autographs and pose for photos and they thought the whole Rovers experience was fantastic!”
