Rovers were the better side for long periods against the Hornets but in the end had to settle for a last-gasp point thanks to Rudy Gestede's injury-time header, so the manager wants that disappointment to be taken out on Millwall on Saturday.
"Tuesday against Watford we are still disappointed, frustrated and angry that we haven't come away with three points because of the manner in which we performed and because we've gone to a ground that's not conceded for six games and scored three," said Bowyer.
"I think it shows progress has been made, but like I keep stressing there is still a long way to go in terms of where we need to get to both on and off the pitch.
"Gradually we are slowly getting there but we've got to go and do the same again on Saturday at Millwall.
"We can't rest on our laurels, and we said that to them after the Leicester game.
"We've certainly got to go and give the level of performance that we gave against Watford. The attacking play at times was very good, we were creating chances, but we've got to make sure that we don't concede soft goals - and they were soft goals.
"But to go 3-2 down in the 88th minute, not many people would have given us much of a chance to get anything from the game, which would have been totally unjust.
"I've watched it again on the video, as soon as they've scored, our lads are ready, there was no-one on the floor, or feeling sorry for themselves, we were ready to take the kick-off, waiting for them to get back.
"I think that mindset and that mentality helped us to get something from the game."
