Gary Bowyer has a selection dilemma of the good kind ahead of Saturday's match against Leeds United.

For the first time this campaign, the Rovers boss has a full compliment of strikers available for the eagerly-awaited roses clash.

DJ Campbell has completed his three-match suspension, whilst David Dunn and Ruben Rochina have had more game time under their belts after recovering from injuries.

Also added to the squad is new loan signing Rudy Gestede, giving Bowyer a selection headache to relish.

"I think this will probably be the first time that we've had them all available so that just shows you that you can never have enough," said the Rovers boss.

"We've got some that are just coming back as well so whilst they are ready and available they are still trying to catch up on game time so it is about using them wisely.

"This is a busy period, we've got three games in a week, so we might just have to be sensible with them."

One man who won't make Saturday's game is Dickson Etuhu.

The midfielder will be sidelined until the new year after sustaining an ankle ligament injury in training.

Bowyer revealed: "Unfortunately for him he picked up an injury in training with an accidental collision with Leon Best and he's out for two months.

"He's had some terrible luck with injuries so it is disappointing for him. He's an experienced pro and he'd worked so hard to get back, the poor lad was devastated."

Bowyer admits Saturday's squad selection will be a tough one, but insists having a strong squad is important to drive the club forward.

"It is a dilemma and competition for places I feel is something that is important," added the manager.

"We always grew up in that environment where there was competition for places and I think it can only spur the others on.

"It is healthy to have that, and like I've said it is probably the first time this year that we're looking at that.

"It is a long season and everybody is going to be needed. When people get the shirt it is up to them to keep the shirt."
