Rovers deadline day signing Ryan Tunnicliffe believes his upbringing at Manchester United has stood him in good stead, following his late switch from Fulham.
Tunnicliffe moved up through the youth ranks to the first team at Old Trafford and admits he couldn’t have wished for a better footballing education.
"I think it is probably the best club in England that you can grow up at,” said the 21-year-old midfielder, who made two senior appearances during his time at United. “The facilities are amazing and they have some of the best coaches.
“A lot of the best young players around - as you've seen with the likes of Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison - have come through that system.
"It is good to play there and to learn to play football the United way.
"I was in the youth team with Josh King, Corry Evans and Ben Marshall and I know them quite well.
"So it will be good to see some friendly faces. It makes it easier to settle into the squad and I can’t wait to get playing with them again.”
