Ewood hot-shot Jordan Rhodes will hope to take his fine form in front of goal onto the international stage when Scotland face Belgium in a World Cup qualifier this evening.

The 23-year-old, who has scored four times in Rovers’ last two league games, will hope his recent purple patch is rewarded with a starting spot in Gordon Strachan’s side.

Grant Hanley is expected to continue his run in the team after impressive performances against England and Croatia.

Scotland will have their work cut out in Hampden against a Belgium side who are top of Group A and have gone six games without defeat.

Corry Evans, who capped his home debut with a stunning strike against Bolton last time out, is with the Northern Ireland squad in Belfast for their crunch clash with Group F leaders Portugal.

And Josh King has linked up with Norway for their game against Cyprus on the back of successive man-of-the-match displays in blue-and-white halves.

Meanwhile, Todd Kane was an unused substitute as England’s Under-21s beat Moldova 1-0 last night in Gareth Southgate’s first game in charge.
