Anna-Louise Adams, who nominated her Rovers-mad family for the special prize, was shocked but delighted to hear the news that they’d won a free season ticket for the forthcoming campaign.
For the past three seasons, dad Peter has driven Anna-Louise and her brother Billy to every Ewood game from their home in Warwickshire.
The four-and-a-half-hour round trip means that they leave at 10am to avoid the M6 traffic on a Saturday and don’t get home until gone midnight when driving back after midweek matches.
Anna-Louise said: “This is amazing news! My dad never complains about the amount of money he has to spend on petrol every week, but this will make the cost so much cheaper. I think it’s an excellent thing the club are doing to connect with fans and as a family we’re all really grateful.”
The club are giving away 20 Golden Tickets ahead of the 2014-15 Championship campaign to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Rovers’ Premiership title triumph.
The other two families shortlisted for a Golden Ticket will be announced in the coming days, along with details of how to get your hands on one of the final few free season tickets.
