Rovers have completed the signing of highly-rated Manchester United defender Michael Keane on loan until the end of the season.
The England Under-21 international joins Rovers from the Premier League champions and has signed in time to be involved in this Sunday's East Lancashire derby against Burnley.
"I'm delighted to finally join," said Keane. "It has been a rumour for a while now, so I'm just glad to get it all sorted.
"I've got a bit of experience now in the Championship and I know what it takes to play well in these games, so I'm looking to play well on Sunday and hit the ground running and keep that form up.
"I'm sure it will be a tough game, but I'm confident we can get a result. I'm really looking forward to it. I hope it is my debut and I'll make sure I'm ready to do well."
A product of United's Academy, the central defender rose to prominence during the Red Devils' FA Youth Cup winning campaign of 2011.
Keane progressed through to the Reserves before making his senior debut in the League Cup win over Aldershot Town in October 2011.
England honours soon followed and he was part of Noel Blake's squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championships.
Last season, the defender featured twice for United's first team, before spending six months on loan at Championship club Leicester City, making 27 appearances for the Foxes and scoring three goals.
This year, Keane has gone on to earn international recognition for England's Under-21s, before joining Steve McLaren's Derby County in November on loan until January 2014.
Rovers boss Gary Bowyer was delighted to add the 21-year-old to his injury-hit squad.
"He is highly sought-after," said Bowyer. "An England international at Under-21 level.
"He has had a good education with Manchester United and he has got experience already in the Championship with his time on loan at Leicester and Derby - two top clubs.
"We are delighted to have been able to secure his services until the end of the season."
Keane, who will wear squad number 16, could make his Rovers debut this Sunday at home to Burnley.
Tickets for the match will be on sale to Rovers fans with a database history of purchasing tickets until 4pm on Saturday. Supporters should note that there will be no sales on the day of the game on police advice.
