Eric Black is looking forward to taking charge at Ewood Park for the first time on Saturday.
The interim manager has lead Rovers to two useful away points at Charlton Athletic and Nottingham Forest in his previous two games in charge and now he wants his first win as boss to come this Saturday to reward the supporters for their fantastic following.
"I'm looking forward to the game very much," said Black. "We hope to give the supporters something to cheer about and another home win.
"We need the fans every week. I've been in football long enough to know that supporters are the lifeblood of the club. Without supporters things don't function.
"So we need them back onside, we need them to roar the boys on, we need them to fill the stadium and intimidate the opponents, we need all those things.
"The sooner we can get that the better."
Black has been impressed with the following he has seen from Rovers fans on the road in the last two matches, both games seeing some 1200 supporters backing the team.
"I would never underestimate the commitment that these people give, financially and of their time to come and support the club," added Black.
"It never fails to amaze me that they can turn out in such high numbers on a Wednesday night when there's exceptionally attractive football on the television.
"So I have enormous admiration for all those that have travelled the support the boys."
