New arrival Todd Kane has settled in quickly to his new surroundings after joining Rovers from Chelsea.

It has been a whirlwind few days for the young full-back but he can't wait to get started for Rovers against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night.

The right-back saw his loan move with Preston end after their FA Cup tie with Millwall at the weekend, he then returned to Chelsea only return back to the north west after being told of Rovers' interest.

Speaking on Thursday the defender said: "My loan with Preston finished at the weekend against Millwall, I travelled back to London, went into the training ground to see the lads and got told by Chelsea that I could be coming back up here.

"As soon as Chelsea mentioned that Blackburn were interested I had a smile on my face because it brought back memories of those games against them.

"I played in two cup finals against Blackburn. We won the youth cup final and I played and scored in the other final for the Reserve team which we won as well.

"So I was over the moon for them to be interested in me."

The 19-year-old full-back is eager to build on those experiences with Preston in League One and having signed on a month-long loan deal with Rovers he is now looking forward to testing himself in the npower Championship.

"I learnt a lot a Preston, it was a different style of play from what I was used to at Chelsea," added Kane. League football is all about three points and it was a great experience for me.

"Coming here I think it will be a different experience again, the way they play football, their philosophy is similar to Chelsea's and I think that it will be really good for me.

"It is a challenge but I'm confident in myself, I feel that if I play the way I know I can then I don't see why I can't participate in the team and help them to get the three points.

"As I've seen in training, the lads are great, for me they are a Premier League team, I feel that the intensity in training is really good.

"We've had three wins out of three with Gary and Terry, so I don't see why we can't walk away on Friday night with four from four."
