Blackburn Rovers boss Michael Appleton has demanded a performance on Tuesday night at the Reebok.

Appleton was unimpressed with the side's first half display in the 3-2 defeat to Peterborough United on Saturday and wants the players to prove their worth against a resurgent Bolton Wanderers.

The first 30 minutes on Saturday saw Rovers concede three goals in quick succession, and although they rallied in the second half to reduce the scoreline, it was still an unsatisfactory day for the manager.

"A performance is what I want," said Appleton. "At this time of the season a lot managers would probably say that it doesn't matter about the performance and that it is all about the points and nine times out of ten I would agree with them.

"But after Saturday, and the first half on Saturday, for once at this point in the season I'm going to allow myself to just concentrate on how we perform."

Appleton made three changes at the break on Saturday and was delighted with the response shown in the second half, now he wants to ensure it doesn't happen again.

"I'm there to make the big decisions when I have to and to be honest I didn't think they were big decisions," added Appleton. "They were easy ones for me.

"I probably could have done it after half an hour and I probably could have done it to five or six players.

"I'm just glad that I got the response I got off the players in the second half, I'm sure at some point the players who came off on Saturday will get the opportunity to make amends and to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

"We now look forward to a Bolton game where everyone is expecting them to win.

"They are on a run of three games now. They struggled early on in the season and found it hard to adapt to the league, they are finding their feet a little bit now but are ready to make a bit of surprise."

Tickets for Tuesday's match at Bolton will be on sale on the day, cash only from the turnstiles. But supporters should not that numbers are very very limited, so fans are advised to purchase their tickets in advance from Ewood Park.

Prices are £15 for Adults, £5 for Seniors and Under-21s. Call the ticket office on 0871 222 1444 for further information.
