The defender was the only new-boy on show as Rovers opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Cardiff City, a match that Baptiste felt they deserved more from.
"It was good, there are a lot of positives," Baptiste told Radio Rovers. "Apart from that set-piece they didn't really have anything and we battered them in the second half but we just couldn't get the goal.
"If you are a supporter there, you look at the way we played it was pleasing to the eye and great to play in. Unfortunately we just couldn't get the win, but it is a good start.
"Maybe we didn't create as much as we could in the final third, but possession-wise I thought we were outstanding.
"The way we played can only mean good things. Cardiff were meant to be favourites and we battered them.
"It is a long season, we've got the players, it is all about digging in and hopefully we'll be up there at the end.
"It is only a point, build on that and we'll see what can happen."
On a personal note, Baptiste has admitted that he's enjoying life at Rovers, having quickly settled in at his new club.
The defender added: "I absolutely love it. The staff, the players, I love it, it has been fantastic.
"I just hope I can be part of a squad that can get promoted. I want to do well for the staff and the fans that have put their faith in me."
