Defender Anthony O'Connor has put pen-to-paper on a new two-and-a-half year contract extension that ties him to the club until the summer of 2015.
Irishman O'Connor has progressed through the Academy ranks at the club since coming over from Cork at the age of 16 and was a regular for the Reserves last season making 16 appearances.
This campaign has seen O'Connor join Burton Albion, initially for a month, but this was quickly extended until the new year after consistent displays at right back for the Brewers.
"I'm delighted to have secured my future with the club," said the 19-year-old. "It is an ambition of mine to play in the first team.
"Right now I'm really enjoying my time with Burton Albion, it has been a huge learning curve for me. The experience has been great and should serve me well for the future.
"I'm playing every week in a tough league against tough opponents and it should stand me in good stead when I return to Blackburn."
O'Connor picked up a knock last time out in the goalless draw against Morecambe, but should be fit for Burton Albion's home game against Bristol Rovers at the weekend.
