Michael Appleton believes that there is more to come from Jordan Rhodes despite the record signing reaching a personal milestone at the weekend.
Rhodes' brace in the 2-0 win over Bristol City on Saturday took the 22-year-old to 100 league goals, 19 for Rovers this campaign from his 28 appearances.
"He's a very good finisher," the Rovers boss told Radio Rovers after Saturday's win. "That is why the football club paid the money that they did to bring him here.
"I want to bring more to his game, I want him to be better at holding the ball up.
"We deliberately tried to get the ball into our strikers on the turnover today a little bit quicker and I thought him and Kaz at times linked up quite well.
"So we were delighted about that and if we can improve his game by 5, 10% then obviously you'll never know what you can do."
Rovers and Rhodes are back in action this Saturday when Ipswich Town are the visitors to Ewood Park.
