The caretaker boss was delighted with the backing the 1250 travelling fans gave Rovers in their 3-1 win over Barnsley and wants more of the same at Ewood this afternoon.
First half goals from Joshua King and Ruben Rochina set Rovers on their way at Oakwell, and although there was a brief scare when Stephen Dawson reduced the scoreline, Jordan Rhodes' 12th Rovers goal of the campaign sealed the victory and a very welcome three points.
Speaking ahead of the Forest clash, Bowyer said: "The level of performance will hopefully have given the players a massive boost and now we have to try and continue that against Forest. That is what we'll be asking the players to do.
"Me and Terry (McPhillips) just made sure that the players were ready but we involved them in everything that we were doing and they engaged in it brilliantly.
"You only had to see the reaction of the fans and the players at the end of the game, throwing shirts into the crowd, the players appreciated the fans and I think the fans appreciated the players' efforts.
"We now ask that the fans recreate the atmosphere that was at Barnsley for the home game at Ewood, then hopefully we can go and try and do the same again.
"The atmosphere created by the fans was great, the suport for the team was great."
Bowyer was in attendance at the City Ground when the two sides went head-to-head back in October, Rovers registering a rare goalless draw in a game of few chances.
"It was a tough game down there just as we expect it to be on this occasion," added Bowyer.
"They've got some good players, they are well organised and obviously with the arrival of a new manager they'll be striving to impress.
"It didn't surprise me that they came back against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Rob Kelly took the team and I know Rob very well and they had the extra motivation of Alex McLeish coming in.
"It is a fantastic appointment for them, he's been a national manager and he's done it in the Premier League as well so it will be good to stand alongside him on the touchline."
