Gary Bowyer is expecting Scunthorpe United to provide a stern test when the two go head-to-head in the Capital One Cup 1st round this evening.

The Rovers boss has been impressed with the work that Scunthorpe boss Russ Wilcox has done at Glanford Park and will be out to avoid a potential cup exit when the Iron visit Ewood Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Scunthorpe lost their opening match in League One 3-1 to Swindon Town at the weekend, but Bowyer doesn't believe it will have any bearing on this evening's encounter.

"Full credit to Russ Wilcox, he went in there and I think they went on a 28-game unbeaten run and got Scunthorpe promoted," said Bowyer.

"We watched them at the game at the weekend and they've had the lad sent off, so they'll be coming looking to cause an upset and it is up to us to meet that challenge.

"They're from a league below and they are going to come and play football and have a go, they've got nothing to lose.

"You saw with ourselves last season against Manchester City at Ewood, we had nothing to lose and sometimes it motivates you more."

Tickets for the match will be on sale up until the 7.45pm kick-off. Prices are from £12 Adults, £8 Seniors and young adults. Whilst under 17s can see the match for just £1!
