Rovers new boy Ryan Tunnicliffe admits the opportunity to work under Gary Bowyer played a big part in his decision to join the club.

The 21-year-old midfielder made a deadline day switch on a season-long loan from Fulham and insists he can't wait to get started.

"The manager wanted me and when someone wants you it is nice to come and play for them," said the England youth international. "I've heard great things about him, so I just can't wait to get started and playing under him.

"I spoke to the manager and he told me about the club, how he works and how the team plays. What he told me suits me down to the ground, so I'm very excited.

"I knew whilst I was growing up playing for Manchester United that Gary was the youth team manager and that is obviously where he has remembered me from.

"He told me that he's got a young squad, a talented squad that works hard, gives 100% every week and I think I fit perfectly into that."
