Simon Church's 7th minute strike was the solitary goal on an afternoon when Rovers pressed for a way back into the game but ultimately came up short against the Addicks.
Man-of-the-match Lowe was pleased with the fighting spirit shown at Ewood and believes it bodes well for the forthcoming games.
"I thought we threw everything at them in the second half but we just couldn't create that opening to break them down in the final third and create the clear cut chances that we would have liked," Lowe told Radio Rovers.
"Everything in between I thought we were spot on but the goal is obviously disappointing, the way we concede it so early, but there were plenty of positives.
"We can play a lot better and that says a lot, but when you don't score goals it is very difficult.
"There are a lot of positives but it was just not to be today.
"We had a good go, the fighting spirit and the character is there, we can now push forward for next week, we'll work on it in training and hopefully we can put that right against Blackpool."
