Corry Evans and Josh King returned to Old Trafford earlier in the week, but it wasn't at the venue where they used to ply their trade.

Joined by midfielder Bryan Dabo, the Rovers trio lent their support to Lancashire County Cricket Club at the launch of their Lancashire Way community project.

The players took part in catching and fielding practice, as well as bowling and batting under the guidance of England star Jimmy Anderson and LCCC's Cricket Director Mike Watkinson.

Midfielder Bryan Dabo enjoyed his afternoon at the cricket, a sport he knew very little about until the day.

"It is a new sport for me," said the Frenchman. "It looks easy but when you know it is very different, it is very hard.

"You need to be quick and fast, and the ball is very hard, I've enjoyed my day."

For Norwegian international Josh King, it was also a new experience.

"I've never been involved with cricket before so this is the first time," said King.

"I'm learning the rules and the laws of the game, so it is good to get a view of something else other than football."
