The only goal of the game came just before the break from midfielder Hyuga Tanner.
Following good work from Lewis Hardcastle to win the ball just outside his own area, Tanner took up possession to race forward to feed Ramirez Howarth on the left. The Rovers striker did well to turn his man and as Tanner raced into the area he latched onto the pinpoint pass to fire home first time from 12 yards.
Rovers could have increased their lead further with Stuart Callaway and Tanner both going close, whilst at the other end Mark Edgar cleared off the line and good goalkeeping from Andrew Fisher kept the French club at bay on a satisfying first full day in the Russian capital.
The lads are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they face Dinamo Minsk.
ROVERS: Fisher, Nyambe, Edgar, Wharton, Platt, Hardcastle, Mansell, Doyle, Howarth, Tanner, Callaway (sub Askew 60 mins).
