Gemma Donnelly’s side have won four games on the spin in all competitions and have set their sights on another three-point haul that would propel them up the Northern Division table.
“We go into the game on the back of some really encouraging results against Sporting Club Albion and on a four-match unbeaten run, including the games against Blackburn Community Sports Club in the county cup and Liverpool Feds in a friendly,” said Rovers’ interim manager.
“Derby suffered a heavy defeat at home to Coventry last weekend, so I’m sure they’ll be looking to bounce back.
“We’re expecting a tough and scrappy game, with both teams eager to earn the three points that would put them in a healthier position in the table going into the Christmas break.
“We have a couple of games in hand on some teams in the league and if we can continue our unbeaten run and pick up some points, that would really push us up the table and alleviate the pressure from the scrap at the bottom.
“Myself and AJ (Amanda Goodwin) sense that the team have been in a confident and jubilant mood given recent form and go into Sunday’s game feeling optimistic of another positive result.”
The game takes place at AFC Darwen’s Anchor Ground on Sunday December 15th, kick-off 2pm. All supporters are welcome.
