Rovers’ Ladies return to Premier League North action tomorrow afternoon at home to table toppers Sheffield (kick-off 2pm).

The Ladies side have not played a league match since early December and face a stern test against the two-time league champions.

However, Rovers have won their last six games on the bounce and boss Gemma Donnelly admits her side are quietly confident.

“Sheffield pose a huge threat, as they have proved over the last few years," said the interim manager.

"They have already beaten us twice this season, so we certainly have a point to prove.

“Since then we have strengthened the squad and have been on a great run of form. During that time we have reached the FA Women’s Cup fourth round and the County Cup final and we are unbeaten since November.

“We are relishing the opportunity to show our quality against a top team.

“New signing Keira Walsh is set to make her debut, whilst both Rio and Steffi Hardy return to the squad after illness. That means we have a full compliment to select from, which is always a massive boost.”
