After impressing in a six-week loan spell, Rovers made the Norwegian international's deal a permanent one with the opening of the January transfer window, securing King on a two-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further year.
Bowyer knows King well having taken charge of Academy and Reserve teams against the forward, as well as naming King in his first two games in charge, so to complete the signing is pleasing.
"It is outstanding news for us," said Bowyer. "You look at the level of performances that he has put in so far, it is a great signing.
"He's a good lad, he wants to get better and to keep on improving and if he does that then we'll have some player on our hands."
