Derby-day debutant Michael Keane felt that despite the result, there was plenty of encouragement to take from the defeat to Burnley.

Rovers started strongly at Ewood Park, Jordan Rhodes giving the home side a 24th minute lead, but two goals in six second half minutes saw the visitors take the spoils.

Speaking to Radio Rovers after the game, the defender said: "Obviously we are all extremely disappointed with the end result but I think we can take something out of the performance.

"I thought we were the better team but it is just that two sloppy moments have cost us from set-plays. One a throw-in and one a free kick.

"I think we coped with their attacking play really well throughout the whole game except for the two set-plays, it is just a case of being switched on and concentrating for the whole 90 minutes. These things can cost you like they have today.

"We had a couple of chances that may have changed the game and maybe one to go 2-0 up, but these things happens in football we just have to get on with it and hope that when they get their chances they don't score.

"But it seemed to be their day today, because they didn't have many chances but when they did they scored.

"We are deflated, but we've just got to pick ourselves up. We can take things out of the performance and we've got to look to Wednesday's game now to put things right."
