Blackburn Rovers are saddened to learn of the death of former player John Connelly, aged 74.
Connelly, who started his professional career with neighbours Burnley, joined Rovers in 1966 from Manchester United for a fee of £40,000.
An England international with 20 caps to his name, Connelly made 164 appearances for Rovers, scoring on 39 occasions in league and cup.
After his four-year spell at Ewood Park, Connelly went onto play for Bury before ending his footballing career.
Rovers would like to offer its condolences to John's family and friends at this sad time.
