The move reunites the Wales Under-19 international with former Rovers boss Scott Rogers.
Rovers’ interim manager Gemma Donnelly, who has lost Steph Marsh and Danielle Young to Manchester City in recent months, was sorry to see another of the club’s young stars ‘cherry-picked’ by a Super League side.
She said: “We would like to wish Gemma all the best and the door will be left open for any future return.
“We have provided her with the platform to show what she can do and it is on the back of some impressive performances at club level that she has managed to reclaim her place in the Wales youth setup and that this move has materialised.
“However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to create any continuity within the squad when Women’s Super League sides, who have greater pulling power, are allowed to poach our best players.
“Something should be done to recompense clubs who have nurtured and developed their talent from a young age.”
