Henning Berg hasn't had too long to work with the squad since his arrival but he expects to see an improvement from the performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when they take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium with the new manager wanting to see a reaction from the weekend defeat.
"I think we have a basic idea as to how we want to play," said Berg.
"We'll take a look at the players, get to know them even better. Yes the staff here will know them from earlier but I have to see everybody and get to know everybody 100%.
"At the same time we are still wanting to improve things and working on them on the training pitch even though we are playing three games a week we can still work on things, to get into the players how we want to do things, that is important and that is what we want to do."
With Berg taking charge of his second game in three days he knows that they haven't had too long to work on the training pitch, but the matches also provide the manager with a valuable insight into his squad.
"These games give me valuable information about the players and their capabilities and how they are as persons.
"This is important, you learn from these games and for me only being here for a few days means that these games are even more important.
"We'll keep working on how we want to play and I'm sure that those things that we didn't do too well on Saturday will improve against Huddersfield."
Tickets for this evening's game are now off sale at Ewood but will be on sale on the turnstiles at Huddersfield, cash only.
Tickets are priced at £25 for Adults, £15 for Students and over 60s, £10 for under 16s and £5 for under 8s.
