The 25-year-old has had a whirlwind few days after learning of Rovers' interest on Wednesday night and signing for the club 24 hours later, the defender having no hesitation in making the move across the Pennines.
"The move has happened quite quickly but I'm delighted to have joined and I'm now looking forward to the weekend," Spurr told Rovers Player
"It is a massive club, it is a Premier League set-up so to come here and be a part of something like this is great."
Spurr admits that the move came out of the blue, but it was an opportunity he just couldn't turn down.
"I played for Doncaster against Bradford on Saturday and came to training Monday and Tuesday, then I heard on Wednesday afternoon of an offer from Blackburn and it didn't take me long to make a decision," revealed the defender.
"When you get an opportunity like this you really can't turn it down, they don't come round very often, I'm really over the moon to be here.
"As soon as I heard that the gaffer wanted me I knew that I had to come here."
Spurr has been given shirt number 3 and is in the squad for Sunday's game at Derby County.
