All the preparation has been done, the last training session ahead of the new season has been completed, and now it is time to get on with the task of getting Rovers promoted back to the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt.
There are no grey areas concerning the goal for the forthcoming campaign, promotion is the only aim and manager Steve Kean believes he has squad capable of achieving that.
"We've done well all summer to assemble one of the best squads in the league," said Kean ahead of the big kick-off.
"Now we've one goal and that goal is to get promoted.
"It is our focus, it is our drive, it is our determination, to get back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and it starts on Saturday."
Rovers kick off their campaign with a tricky away trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town, a side he watched in action in the Capital One Cup in midweek.
"We'll go there very positive," added Kean. "I went to see them the other night against Bristol Rovers and they performed very well themselves and I think they've got a good squad.
"Obviously it will be a tough game but we should be going there full of confidence.
"It is important with the squad that we have that we hit the ground running.
"We've got two home fixtures after this one and we are going to need the depth of the squad because the games come around so quickly in this league.
"We know that a good start is imperative for us to move on."
