Gary Bowyer believes that Tom Cairney can hit double figures after scoring the opening goal of the season in Friday night's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City.

The former Scottish Under-21 international struck a sensational 25-yard goal in the draw with the Bluebirds, one that his manager would love to see more of after the midfielder scored six goals last term.

"He's got a chance of getting double figures if he keeps on believing in himself like he should do, because he's a fantastic footballer," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"I've not set him that target, but we've certainly spoke about contributing with more goals.

"So why not, why can't he get double figures?"

Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when Scunthorpe United are the visitors to Ewood Park in the opening round of the Capital One Cup.

Tickets for the match will be on sale up until the 7.45pm kick-off. Prices are from £12 Adults, £8 Seniors and young adults. Whilst under 17s can see the match for just £1!
