The game was won by Jordan Rhodes who scored the only goal of the game in the first half, his 25th goal for the club in an incredible first season since signing from Huddersfield back in August.
Rhodes wasn't the only star on the night as the manager felt that all of the players, as well as the supporters, all played their part in getting the three points.
"It was a huge win for us," Bowyer told Radio Rovers. "I thought the level of performance in the first half from us was really good, we played some good stuff.
"The goal was a great finish, he's a predator, and then you saw the other side of the lads, they dug deep and gave everything and more. Even when the substitutes came on they had a real go and fought for the cause.
"Then it was backed by the supporters, it is a long time since I've heard noise like that at Ewood and long may it continue.
"I can't thank the fans enough and the lads in the dressing room really appreciate their support.
"We are delighted with the win but we are not getting carried away, we have two difficult away trips coming up and we need all their support once more."
