England's Under-19s did what was required of them but ultimately came up short in their bid to reach this summer's UEFA Under-19 Championships.

Noel Blake's Young Lions went into Wednesday evening's match against Scotland knowing that  a good victory could give them a chance of reaching the summer championships in Lithuania, although they needed Belgium to beat Georgia by a smaller margin or their match to be a draw.

England triumphed 3-0 in Westerlo, first half goals from Shaquille Coulthirst and Lewis Baker was added to by Chuba Akpom's third with 16 minutes to go, but Georgia's 2-0 win over Belgium in the other match meant it was they who progressed through to the finals.

Rovers' central defender Jack O'Connell captained England once more, the young Rover played in all three of England's unbeaten matches.
