The caretaker manager was impressed with the way that substitute Dunn grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck against Cardiff City on Monday, the midfielder epitomising the believe needed to be shown in the end of season run-in.
Two late goals from Cardiff City saw the home side run out 3-0 winners leaving Rovers nervously looking over their shoulder with seven games remaining.
"Dunny made a massive impact and he can be pleased with his contribution," said Bowyer.
"What he did show was how much passion and care that he has for the football club.
"You look at Craig Bellamy chasing back and that typifies everything about Cardiff City and that is what we've got to produce.
"David Dunn epitomises Blackburn Rovers and we know how much he cares for this club and we've got to have 11 of us doing that."
